How To Delete A Personal Or Business Yelp Account
SO, you want to know HOW to delete Yelp account?
Well, there are two ways you can get this done depending on whether you have a personal or business account. So let’s begin by going over how you can remove a personal account from Yelp.
Removing A Personal Profile From Yelp
Follow the steps below for Yelp account closure:
1. Log In To Your Yelp Account
Go to your Yelp account and simply log in. This is the first step in deleting a personal profile from Yelp and saying “see ya!” to your least favorite online platform!
If you are not logged in now, you can easily access the login page on Yelp by clicking on this link- https://www.yelp.com/
You will see, in the upper right corner there will be two tabs. One will say “sign up” and the other “log in”. You will hover and click the button that says “log in”.
You can refer to the above screenshot to see where the login hyperlink is.
Be careful to enter your information correctly. In order to successfully close your personal Yelp account, you will need to be logged into it.
Now in the event that you have forgotten your Yelp login information, you can click the link that says “Forgot password?”. You will then be redirected to a page where you will be prompted to enter your email address to reset your password for your Yelp account.
2. Locate Your Profile
Once you are successfully logged in, find your Yelp account profile.
If you click the arrow on the right side of your profile pic, you will see a drop down menu. Here you can click on the profile name you set for your account, and on the left side bar, click “reviews”. Here, you will want to do a full assessment of all of your personal activity on Yelp. This is not necessary, however I like to remove any reviews or pictures that I don’t want available online prior to closing my account.
YOU MAY WANT TO ASK YOURSELF: Are there any reviews or photos that need to be immediately removed while your account removal is processing? If so, you can simply click on trash can icon in the lower right hand corner of the review panel.
Continue and click this icon to remove each review you want to immediately remove from Yelp.
BE AWARE: When you click the trash can icon to delete your Yelp review, a pop-up will appear. The pop-up will prompt you to answer why you are taking this action. This is nothing to be alarmed by. Simply check the answer which best fits your reason, or check other and manually type in the reason that you are removing the Yelp review.
3. Deactivate Your Account
Finally, and once you have removed all things that need immediate attention, you can visit this link: https://www.yelp.com/support/contact/account_closure/
to close your account for good.
If you would like to do it manually, here’s how you can do it:
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and in the footer widget area, you will see a hyperlink that says “support”. It is in the second column from the left under “Discover”.

Once you have clicked that hyperlink, you will be redirected to a page. In the upper portion of the page there will be search bar that says “what can we help you with?” Here, you will enter the words “close account” and hit “search support”.
From here, you will be take to a page where you will see search results. The first search result will say “how do I close my account?” Click this.

Here you will come to a page that will say “How do I close my account?”. Since you are closing a personal account, you will look under the section that says “yelpers” and click the hyperlink to “submit an account closure request”.
4. Email Confirmation
Once you have done this, an email will be sent to you at the email associated with your Yelp account. Once you retrieve the message from yelp in your email, you can permanently remove your Yelp account.

You will be taken to a page and prompted to enter the support question you have. Again, you can enter “close Yelp account”.
You will be redirected to a page which shows search results that answer your inquiry “close Yelp account”. In the search results you should see that the first result that says “how do I close my account”.

Although you do have the choice to unclaim your business listing, this does not remove the listing from Yelp.
